Cloverbud Camp – Theme for 2010: Myths and Mysteries

5-9 year olds (Kindergarten-3rd grade for 2010-2011 school year) and an adult relative*

WHAT: This 2-day camp is intended to introduce our young 4-H’ers to the camp experience. Each cloverbud should be accompanied by an adult (21 or older) who has completed the 4-H volunteer process and who is related to or holds legal guardianship over the camper.

With this year’s theme, we’ll be busting some myths and solving some mysteries.

Other activities include swimming, canoeing, arts & crafts, basketball, campfire program and much more.

WHEN: July 9-10 (begins on Friday at 10:00 a.m. and ends Saturday at 1:00 p.m.)

WHERE: C. A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center in Little Rock

COST: $90/person

  • Pre-registration is open until March 31 - $25 deposit due at time of pre-registration
  • Final camp registration and fees due no later than June 1

*Adult Relative for Cloverbud Camp is only responsible for their child and is considered a participant at camp, not a volunteer.

Junior Camp – Theme for 2010: Myths and Mysteries

9-12 year olds (4th-7th grade for 2010-2011 school year)
Adult Volunteers**

WHAT: This 3-day camp will be based around the theme of myths and mysteries! We’ll be busting some myths and solving some mysteries!

Other activities include canoeing, fishing, arts & crafts, basketball, campfire program, meet 4-H’ers from other counties, and gain an appreciation for summer camp.

WHEN:

Session I July 6-8 (begins on a Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. and ends on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.)

Session II July 12-14 (begins on a Monday at 10:00 a.m. and ends on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.)

WHERE: C. A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center in Little Rock

COST: $135/person

** Adult Volunteers: Either an county Extension employee or adult volunteer  (21 years or older) that has been through the volunteer application process must accompany each county group. A minimum of one adult per eight campers is required by 4-H Center Policy. All adults attending camp are asked to be responsible for the campers from their county and to act in a volunteer capacity during the entire camp. Adults pay regular camp fee.

Other Camp Opportunities

Forestry and Wildlife Camp

10-13 year olds

WHAT: The purpose of the camp is to familiarize the campers with natural resources and environmental concepts so that they will be better- informed citizens of tomorrow. Also, the camp enhances project work related to forestry, fisheries, wildlife, water, general ecology, and natural resource conservation.

WHEN: June 21-24

COST: $165
