Junior and Senior 4-H members are eligible to participate in the 4-H Wildlife O-Rama. More details about this activity are available in the event description (PDF).
Wildlife Identification (30 points) asks contestants to identify wildlife from pictures, artifacts, replicas, or other representations as found in a natural outdoor condition. This includes identifying pelts, skulls, tracks, vocalizations, scat, or other evidence as in the picture. Wildlife to be identified in this activity are from an official species list (PDF). View the scorecard below to learn which wildlife species are in the contest.

Wildlife Foods and Wildlife Management Concepts (30 points) focuses only on species in the announced region. The announced region for 2012 is Grasslands/Tallgrass Prairie. There are two parts in this contest.

Participants are encouraged to attend the 4-H Wildlife Habitat Education Program’s practice session and state contest. Typically the practice session is held in February and the state contest in April or May. Check the 4-H Activity Quick Reference Guide (PDF) for dates and locations.
